Due to many requests here a small Tutorial how to build models for flans mod. I hope it will answer most questions.

I separated it into part
1. Modelling with Techne
2. Building the Java File
3. Recompiling
4. Bring the model into the game

Part 1: Modelling with Techne
I build all my models with a tool called “Techne”. It seems to be the only tools for generating models for java and Turbo Model Thingy.
You can download it for free here <a href=" www.minecraftforum.net/topic/200676-mode...oking-for-help/" ; rel="external">minecraftforum.net/topic/200676-modeler-techne-looking-for-help/

After installing the modelling can be started.
After start, the “New model” dialog automatically comes up. Here select “Turbo Model Thingy”, ModelBase, and 512 as Texture Size (512 because I gave maximum space to build the texture. It can be adjusted when finished).

Before you start to create your model you should activate “Show Coordinate System” in the options/ Viewport 3d settings. After that a small construct of 3 coloured arrows is shown bottom left.
These arrows are very help full because they show you the direction your model will drive/ fly. If you don’t look at this before you start, your model will drive back or sideward when you accelerate (I know what I’m talking about <img style="border: 0px;" src="{e_IMAGE}emotes/default/biglaugh.png" alt="biglaugh.png" /> ).

<img style="width: 600px; height: 368px; border: 0px solid black; float: none;" src="{e_IMAGE}custom/tut1.jpg" alt="tut1.jpg" />
Cars follow the arrow

<img style="width: 600px; height: 371px; border: 0px solid black; float: none;" src="{e_IMAGE}custom/tut2.jpg" alt="tut2.jpg" />
Planes are turned 180 degrees.
<img style="width: 600px; height: 405px; border: 0px solid black; float: none;" src="{e_IMAGE}custom/tut3.jpg" alt="tut3.jpg" />

I always start with a flour, so I have a visual help. The flour should be at a height of 10,0 because than your vehicle stays on the ground, if you place the vehicle below, it will spawn inside the ground (and yes… again I know what I’m talking about <img style="border: 0px;" src="{e_IMAGE}emotes/default/biglaugh.png" alt="biglaugh.png" /> )

<img style="width: 600px; height: 389px; border: 0px solid black; float: none;" src="{e_IMAGE}custom/tut4.jpg" alt="tut4.jpg" />

Flan’s mod is very limited in what kind of parts you can use. Boxes and trapezoids are ok, Cylinders, Cones and Spheres all so work, but look very strange in the game. There are many other forms, for further info about that read the Documentation of “Turbo Model Thingy” which can be found here:<a href=" www.minecraftforum.net/topic/147443-125-...Javadoc%20File)" ; target="_blank">minecraftforum.net/topic/147443-125-behold-the-gary-inator/ (download the Javadoc File)

Trapezoids are not part of Techne, so I normally build a box of the same size and replace it by a trapezoid while creating the java file.

First of all you should start with the position of the player. A player needs a space of at least 16x16 with a height of 22 blocks to be placed. If that is set, you build the rest of the model.

Continue with part 2 when your model is finished <img style="border: 0px;" src="{e_IMAGE}emotes/default/wink.png" alt="wink.png" />
