There's many reasons as to why one would want to make their own modelling program rather than use techne, even if toolbox was just a modified version (of which it isn't).

Reliability - At 200 parts or more, techne has every chance of crashing on you. I don't care if you have the best PC that can handle it - that only applies to the 5% here who have one and the 95% who don't.

Efficiency/Performance - the most I've seen toolbox use is about 500mb, at 400 parts or more and using textures. Techne seems to go more than a gb, at 200 parts and textured.

Interoperability - Techne requires an internet connection on startup, and cannot be disabled. Yes, one can still use it without internet, but startup takes longer.

There probably more I can list but three's enough.

How matter how you say that, that's still judging a book by its cover.

Toolbox is different for the fact that it's specifically designed for flansmod. Export models to the flansmod model code framework, allows both image plane and obj wavefront model referencing, automated forge gradle building and compiling (if you don't like the manual way), and building the config files that go with each model as well.
There's a lot there by actually using it, do you discover that techne is more General Purpose while toolbox is Specialised.

Getting back to your commission post, sorry. Got a backlog of work and my own pack to build.

Well it does seem to be pretty polarising so far.

The problem with money posts is that most people don't value the models we make as much as something made on blender with thoose beautiful renders like it didn't take the same effort

and I'm also 90% sure that the models made are under appreciated take Td or Vini For Example they both use a ton of parts in there models I don't know what vini has for his most but TD I see some of his Around 981 and if said model were sold for 5$ it would be a pretty big insult

If Bigger is Better than is the moon Deadlier than a Tank
